Rain-soaked in Almabtrieb

For me, this event in Austria started AND ended badly.  I didn't arrive at the campground until 2:30 in the morning... and it was raining. If you've ever been camping, you know it's no fun to pitch a tent in the rain.

Well, I woke up in the morning all wet. The tent had leaked, all my stuff was wet as well, and worst of all, the temperature had dropped dramatically and it was like 45 degrees (whereas it had been 90+ for almost the whole week before I arrived)!

I wasn't the only one who was miserable, so a group of us – myself and some guys from Germany and Russia – went in together on a hotel room.  The best thing about that is that I became good friends with the Russians...  Tim and Natasha.

There was a lodge at the top of the mountain where a free breakfast of müsli and yogurt was served. I thought that was it good!

I qualified 16th and felt pretty good about everything. It's starting to dry out, so I put my regular wheels on.  BIG MISTAKE!  Because just before the heat, it started raining again!  Everyone else still had their rain wheels on... and well... needless to say, I didn't do very well.
