Brandon DesJarlais is a professional longboard skater, content creator, and community leader based in Venice Beach, California. Brandon made a name for himself as a competitive downhill longboard racer, but has since had success placing in competitions across many disciplines of skateboarding including longboard dancing and pump track races.

Brandon was the stunt double for Vin Diesel in an opening scene of him longboarding down a mountain in the film xXx 3: Return of Xander Cage.

Airing during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Brandon was featured – by name – for his longboard dancing skills in a TV commercial promoting Facebook Groups.

In the past few years, Brandon has been teaching others through private coaching, online tutorials, free workshops in Los Angeles, and as an instructor at several longboard camps. In an effort to make learning more simple, intuitive and collaborative, he co-founded a longboarding app named Amp Skate. This newfound passion for teaching and building community led him to found Beyond the Board, a 501(c)3 non-profit with a mission to use longboarding as a tool to build confidence and community that go “beyond the board.” Since converting an old school bus into the “Shred Sled” in July 2021, Beyond the Board has hosted 4 nationwide tours across 25+ states and 65+ cities, totaling 350+ community activations, and 1,000s of participants over 45,000+ miles.

An active, do-it-all type of guy, Brandon strives to put 100% effort into everything he does, no matter where it is. With a love for travel, so far he’s skated in 26 different countries.

"Growing up in a small town in the Pacific Northwest, I was involved in sports and photography from a young age. I discovered downhill skateboarding when I was 14 and immediately set out to not just be good at it, but to become one of the best. Working my way through school, I even delivered Jimmy Johns sandwiches by skateboard – challenging myself to be faster than the other guys with cars and bikes. In the years since, I’ve gained both skill and a sizable following on social media.

I was in college studying business, sports marketing and photography for two-and-a-half years – I even managed to make it onto the President’s List for academic excellence. I decided to take time off from my studies, however, when the unique opportunity arose to use my skateboarding skills in the 2017 feature film xXx 3: The Return of Xander Cage. I served as Vin Diesel’s stunt double for the skateboarding scenes in the film.

I’m travel the world regularly for competitions and media opportunities. From 2015 to 2021, I worked as brand manager for Moonshine Mfg, a high-end specialty longboard company. I planned their marketing strategy, managed social media, and lead our international team of longboarders.

In 2020, I completed my college studies, receiving a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Portland State University. I have plans, of course, to keep racing and appearing on podiums around the world… and also to continue to have fun with all forms of skateboarding.”
